Today is December 31st where I’m at, so we’ve got just a few more hours to the new year, and parts of the world have already crossed the date line.
I have lots of things planned for the new year, and well, here we go!

Usually I’m more together during NaNoWriMo and spend part of my time blogging as a form of procrastination.
This year, I totally forgot. For which, I am sorry. There isn’t really an excuse, but I was a first time ML this year, and was working an absurd amount of hours and also got sick all at the same time.
It is something every writer hears. The mantra, ‘write what you know’.
Is it a good mantra? Yes and no. Why do I think it’s both good and bad?
I regard it as both good and bad because for some of us, we have no interest in writing what we know, and for a couple of genres, it is nearly impossible to ‘write what you know’.

I wasn’t expecting the feelings I got when I submitted my first piece to a paying market.
What I also wasn’t expecting was the feelings of joy I got from being able to tell people, who have never believed in me, that ‘hey look, I can too do this’.
