Well, that didn’t work the way I expected.

Hi guys.

Adrienne here, and I know, I’ve dropped off on the posting again. This time, I have a better reason than simply being forgetful. I have, for the time being, no internet access at my house: which means that even though I want to post, I’m not able to.

I’m hoping to have internet back midway through Novemeber, but that does mean that you’ll see a lot of me through scheduled postings all put on the site on either friday or saturdays. I’m about to put three or four posts into the schedule queue, just of prompts, and then I’m going to go ahead and write a few about other things as well.

Either way, we have only 26 days until NaNoWriMo 2013. I’m setting myself a little higher goal than I have in the past this year, and I hope to accomplish it. My goal is to write 2k words on days I work, and 3k on days that I don’t. This should put me near 70k at the end of the month, with two completed (hopefully) stories. I’m now getting on track to finish two other short stories as well. All four stories are based in the same universe, which I’m beginning to tilt deeper and deeper into. I’m hard core back into pure sci-fi, and it looks like I’ll be staying here a while.

A new thing!

All right, I’ve been planning to add a new thing to the site. And as a 6 year NaNoWriMo participant, and winner of the last four. I think I can call myself a writer.

Though, I have been writing as far back as I can remember; and I was story-telling as far back as I’ve apparently been talking–according to my mother. And I know that one of the biggest things that most aspiring writers have as an obstacle is that they simply don’t know how to start.

I remember the fear of approaching each new story idea, and trying to figure out how to start. I’ll be covering that in a post at the start of the next week. It’ll be part of a new series on writing that I’m going to call Writing:101. It will cover things from tricks I use to get started, to things I do to keep going; and how not to be afraid of that big blank page either on the computer screen or in that notebook that you keep on the bedside table.

But on the other hand, I did work today, and since my allergies have arrived in full force, I’m a little brain dead at the moment. It also didn’t help that I woke up two hours before my alarm this morning, and the kittens decided that mommy wasn’t allowed to go back to sleep. -.-
I’ve been dosed up on Aleve-D trying to get rid of most of it, and resumed my Zyrtec taking a couple of days ago. I’ll be back to my normal, non snuffly self in no time. (by the way, I sound weird as hell. Even to myself. XD)

Fun times

Post that should have happened sunday evening.:

So. I was thinking, and I was playing on the site last night.

I built a forum. And I put a present on the forum, if you’re paying attention. I’m a writer, and I figured that I would post something pertaining to that.

These next few weeks are going to be fun, but thankfully, such a thing as internet will have returned to my house monday evening.

As time goes by, there will be more an more interesting things going on here, but until then, NANOWRIMO ladies and gents?
word count by the end of sunday was 24.5k or so. I needed to be at 30k to be on track. (insert sigh here) I’ll get my ass back together though. I know I will. I keep forgetting that my blind character can’t do certain things though, so she keeps doing them, and then i realise this shortly after I’ve reached the next paragraph. Usually results in a swear word and then me rewriting the paragraph on the spot, because I have to reread part of what I wrote before to get going again on a new day.

Though, I’m back to averaging 2k words a day, so we’ll see how long I can keep it up this time.
